The work has evolved from both an interest in surface pattern and also painting as a subject matter in its own right. Paintings often explore pattern and abstract shapes and forms found throughout the city on hoardings, torn and decayed billboards and peeled and layered graffiti as a starting point for compositional decisions and the application of motifs. Paint is applied by layering torn and shredded acrylic paint skins onto a variety of painted surfaces.
